Mark your calendars for the San Leandro Shoreline Clean-up in honor of Earth Day. Staff will be stationed at the Monarch Bay Drive bridge and at the Heron Bay entrance to the Shoreline Trail at the end of Lewelling Blvd to provide bags, gloves, and refreshments to volunteers. By request, students from local high schools working on community service time will receive a certificate of service for the event. Call the Marina Office at (510) 577-3488 for more information. The festival features informational booths, activities for kids and art projects from local school students that show the importance of the creek and surrounding watershed. This year we will combine the festival with a free community recycling event. Bring broken or unwanted CDs, DVDs, jewel cases, floppy disks, audio and video tapes, cell phones, batteries (no car batteries) and empty toner cartridges to recycle. The 7th annual free self-guided tour continues to celebrate the diverse styles of Bay-Friendly
Landscaping. Over 30 public and private gardens will be featured throughout Alameda County. Bay-Friendly
gardens offer something for everyone-come and discover ideas for creating your perfect haven.
This City-sponsored event is designed to
keep your neighborhood clean and green. Host a Garage Sale at your house in the morning. The City will provide
free advertising in the San Leandro Times. In the afternoon, drop-off electronics, appliances, tires, wood,
fluorescent lamps, batteries, mattresses, and scrap metal at a designated recycling facility. Sign up via email
