  • Street traffic signs that need repair or replacement;
  • Street lights and traffic signals that need maintenance;
  • Pavement markings that need maintenance (i.e. STOP or YIELD legends, double yellow center line, bike lanes, etc.);
  • Tree planting and trimming;
  • Parking meters that are broken or knocked down;
  • Storm grates that are broken, loose or missing;
  • Streets that are flooded due to storms;
  • Storm water inlets or drainage ditches that are filled with debris;
  • Streets that need cleaning because of a spill; and
  • Graffiti found on public property or in areas visible from the public right-of-way.

Street Sweeping
If you would like to know what day your street is swept, refer to the Street Sweeping Schedule.

Street Sweeping Equipment

To increase the effectiveness of street sweeping in your neighborhood, please follow these simple steps:

  • Remove your vehicles from the street during scheduled street sweeping days before 8:00 a.m. Also, encourage your neighbors to remove their vehicles.
  • Do not pile or stack leaves in the street. Leaves should be removed completely and placed in green waste containers or Fall Leaf Bags.
  • Keep the street path clear of trash and debris.
  • Remove any metal, concrete or wood ramp driveway approaches. Unauthorized ramps can trap trash and debris and prevent sweepers from reaching the curb to clean properly.
  • Report abandoned or illegally parked vehicles to the Police Department Traffic Division at (510) 577-3208.

Holidays
Streets will not be swept on the following holidays:

  • New Year's Day
  • Memorial Day
  • 4th of July
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving
  • Christmas

Street sweeping will resume within two days of the holiday.
