Draft Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan Now Available

December 1, 2017 

The City is pleased to announce the release of the draft Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan, which is designed to guide the development of facilities to enhance bicycling and walking as safe, enjoyable, and practical transportation choices for the community. The public is encouraged to review the document and provide any feedback. The Bicycle and Pedestrian advisory committee also will be hosting a meeting on December 5, 2017 from 6:30-9:00 pm at the Senior Community Center (13909 E. 14th St.) to review the draft plan in more detail. Enjoy focused time with your baby (pre-walkers ages 0 to 12 months) during this short session. We’ll sing songs in English and Spanish, learn easy movement activities, and explore board books, followed by time to play/bond with your baby and talk with other parents and caregivers. If you have a baby and a toddler/preschooler, please attend our toddler storytime or preschool storytime instead.

Just the right pace for you and your totally nonstop toddler up to age 3, we’ll enjoy stories, songs and active rhymes, followed by a play time. We offer duplicate sessions at 9:30am and 10:30am, so please choose just one to attend. This storytime takes place in the ESTUDILLO ROOM of the Main Library.

Designed for children ages 3-6, our preschool storytime features longer picture books, plus plenty of flannel boards, puppets and songs. We explore a different theme each week with books and crafts to help with emerging literacy and fine motor skills, followed by a play time.

This program takes place in the ESTUDILLO ROOM at the Main Library.


2:30 PMDub Club

Teens! Are you looking for something fun to do after school on Wednesdays? Join Dub Club at the Main Library from 2:30-4:30 pm in the Karp room. There will be snacks, games, and more! This program is for teens in grades 6-12.

7:00 PMFamily/Preschool Storytime (Main Library)

FAMILY STORYTIME: Stories, songs and play for families

Based on our preschool storytime, this evening program offers terrific books, songs and rhymes for kids of all ages to enjoy. We explore a different theme each week with books and crafts to help with emerging literacy and fine motor skills, followed by a play time. Wear your pajamas if you’d like!

This program is held in the ESTUDILLO room at the Main Library.

11:00 AM"A Christmas Carol" Films at Museum

There's no better way to prepare for the holidays than by watching Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol". Join us at the Museum (320 W. Estudillo Ave.) on Saturday, December 16 for two family versions of the classic holiday tale. At 11:30am we will show "The Muppet Christmas Carol" starring Kermit the Frog as Bob Crachit and Michael Caine as Ebenezer Scrooge. (1992, G, 1:25) At 2:00pm we will show an animated version of "A Christmas Carol" starring Jim Carrey as the voice of Ebenezer Scrooge and the three ghosts. (2009, PG, 1:36) Also available from 11am to 4pm are holiday craft actvities for the whole family. Free admission and no registration required.


11:00 AMHolidays At the Casa Peralta- December 16, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Tis the season and all are invited to enjoy the Casa Peralta, San Leandro's historic house museum, which will be decked out in all of its holiday finery. Located at 384 West Estudillo, the Casa Peralta is a window to California's rich history. There will be Christmas music, free refreshments, and history tours. Call 510-577-3971 for more information.
