Get funding for a local readiness project!

February 14, 2018 

The City is accepting applications for Get Ready San Leandro, a local grant program aimed at creating more resilient neighborhoods and a stronger volunteer network. Thanks to funding provided by the Cities of Service Prepared Together program, local community groups or individuals may qualify to receive grants of up to $1,500 for local projects.

Spring Activities Guide

The Recreation and Human Services Department launched its 2018 Spring Activities Guide. The spring events include an Annual Egg Hunt, an AARP Income Tax Preparation class, senior social programs, senior trips…the list goes on and on! There is something for everyone - from tots to seniors and from individuals to families. Do not miss out on an opportunity to learn something new, meet new friends, try a new exercise class and get involved in our community. Draft Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan Now Available

December 11, 2017 

The draft Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan is now available. This document is designed to guide the development of facilities to enhance bicycling and walking as safe, enjoyable, and practical transportation choices for the San Leandro community. Enjoy focused time with your baby (pre-walkers ages 0 to 12 months) during this short session. We’ll sing songs in English and Spanish, learn easy movement activities, and explore board books, followed by time to play/bond with your baby and talk with other parents and caregivers. If you have a baby and a toddler/preschooler, please attend our toddler storytime or preschool storytime instead.

Just the right pace for you and your totally nonstop toddler up to age 3, we’ll enjoy stories, songs and active rhymes, followed by a play time. We offer duplicate sessions at 9:30am and 10:30am, so please choose just one to attend. This storytime takes place in the ESTUDILLO ROOM of the Main Library.

Family Fun Night: James Henry’s House of Samba!

Join us on Wednesday, February 21 at 7:00pm. Master percussionist James Henry will take you on a journey to the world of music and percussion, conveying the foundation of the African diaspora rhythms. Expect to dance, sing, be involved and be transported at this all-ages show. Doors open at 6:50pm, and refreshments are served after the show.
