Manor Park Gets New Play Structures on Aug 5th -Volunteers Needed

July 14, 2017 

You're invited to help make San Leandro more playful by creating a new place for kids to play. Thanks to the financial support of Kaiser Permanente and volunteers from San Leandro Police Association and Alameda County Firefighters Association Local 55, Manor Park will get new play structures on Sat. Aug. 5th.

Minimum Wage Requirements Effective July 1st

June 28, 2017 

On September 6, 2016, the City Council adopted an ordinance that accelerates implementation of the statewide minimum wage requirements. That ordinance goes into effect on July 1, 2017. For more information, please visit: www.sanleandro.org/minimumwage

1:30 PMFREE - Needle Crafters Meetups

If you would like to learn a needle craft (such as knitting, crocheting, cross stitching or embroidering), or if you are currently working on a needle craft project, then come join the Library's Needle Crafters, led by library volunteers.

The Needle Crafters, who meet year-round, are a fun, informal group that meet and make new friends at the Library while discussing interesting topics such as books, travel and movies.

The Needle Crafters usually meet in the Conference Room C, however, check the meeting room computer monitor in the Lobby for any changes.

Tinker Tots ▪ Fun, hands-on activities for little guys, ages 2 to 5, and a caregiver. Register starting one week in advance by calling 577-3960.

June 12: Fun with Boxes! Hear a story about everything a box could be, then explore what you can do with a box.

June 26: Silly Robots! Listen to a silly robot story, then build your own robot out of everyday materials.

July 10: Everything goes by Sea! Build a sea-worthy vessel of your own imagination. Will it sink or float? Listen to a book then try for yourself.

July 24: Toddler Runway! Design an outfit for a cut out doll that is totally you. From high-art fashion to practical stand-bys, show us your fashion chops.

Baby Time: Rhymes, songs and books for ages 0 to 12 months

*space is limited to 15 families
Enjoy focused time with your baby (pre-walkers ages 0 to 12 months) during this short session. We’ll sing songs in English and Spanish, learn easy movement activities, and explore board books, followed by time to play/bond with your baby and talk with other parents and caregivers. If you have a baby and a toddler/preschooler, please attend our toddler storytime or preschool storytime instead.
