Summer Activities Guide Is Here!

The San Leandro Recreation and Human Services Department has launched its 2017 Summer Activities Guide! Summer Camps, Special Events: Farmers’ Market, Cinco de Mayo, Family Movie Nights, Family Fun Recreational Swim. New Classes; Senior Social Programs; Senior Trips... the list goes on! There is something for everybody from tots to seniors and individuals to families in the Summer Activities Guide! Don't miss out on an opportunity to learn something new, meet new friends, get in shape and get involved in our community!

Information on San Leandro Minimum Wage Requirements

November 30, 2016 

On September 6, 2016, the City Council adopted an ordinance that accelerates implementation of the statewide minimum wage requirements. That ordinance goes into effect on July 1, 2017. For more information, please visit: www.sanleandro.org/minimumwage

Rhymes, songs and books for ages 0 to 12 months

*space is limited to 15 families
Enjoy focused time with your baby (pre-walkers ages 0 to 12 months) during this short session. We’ll sing songs, learn easy movement activities, and explore board books, followed by time to play/bond with your baby and talk with other parents and caregivers. Bring a blanket if you’d like. If you have a baby and a toddler/preschooler, please attend our toddler storytime or preschool storytime instead. This program is funded by First 5 Alameda County through a neighborhood partnership grant.

Tiempo de Bebe - edades 0-12 meses

Disfruta un tiempo enfocado en Ud. y su bebé (edades 0-12 meses y pre-caminante) durante esta sesión corto. Cantaremos canciones, aprenderemos actividades de movimiento fáciles y exploraremos libritos antes de un tiempo de jugar y aumentar vínculo con su bebé mientras conocer otros padres y proveedores de cuidado infantil. Si tienes un bebe y un niñito/preescolar (de 1 año ), por favor en vez asistir nuestro programa de Canciones y Cuentos el jueves. Este es un servicio gratuito ofrecido por First 5 Alameda County.

TODDLER STORYTIME: Stories, rhymes and romps for ages 1-3

Just the right pace for you and your totally nonstop toddler up to age 3, we’ll enjoy stories, songs and active rhymes, followed by a play time. We offer duplicate sessions at 9:30am and 10:30am, so please choose just one to attend. This storytime takes place in the ESTUDILLO ROOM of the Main Library.

Designed for children ages 3-6, our preschool storytime features longer picture books, plus plenty of flannel boards, puppets and songs. We explore a different theme each week with books and crafts to help with emerging literacy and fine motor skills, followed by a play time.

This program takes place in the ESTUDILLO ROOM at the Main Library.


2:30 PMDub Club

Teens in grades 6-12, join us at the Main Library every Wednesday that school is in session for Dub Club!

Dub Club is from 2:30-4:30 pm and is a place where you can hang with your friends, have a snack, and play video games! Free event, new teens must sign our behavior guidelines to attend.

Based on our preschool storytime, this evening program offers terrific books, songs and rhymes for kids of all ages to enjoy. We explore a different theme each week with books and crafts to help with emerging literacy and fine motor skills, followed by a play time. Wear your pajamas if you’d like!

This program is held in the ESTUDILLO room at the Main Library.

Disfruta libros, cuentos y canciones en Español en la biblioteca con tus bebes y niños pequeños. Aprende canciones y rimas que puedes usar cada día con ellos en casa. Ven y juega con nosotros terminando la lectura del cuento. Este es un servicio gratuito ofrecido por First 5 Alameda County.

Featuring the best in children's books, songs and activities. For children ages 2-5 years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration required.

4:00 PMTechno Drop In

Do you have a tech device and need help using it? The Tech Drop In Lab, the Library's free technology help program, will be held Thursday, May 4, 4 PM to 6 PM on the first floor of the Main Library.

The Tech Drop In Lab is designed for all ages and offers assistance using cell phones; tablets; laptops; operating systems; the Library's downloadable ebook collection, and Zinio, the Library's digital magazine service. The library has trained volunteers ready to offer one-on-one assistance. All sessions are drop-in with no reservation necessary.

Those seeking assistance are asked to bring in their tech device; power cords; manuals; and account usernames and passwords. For more information, please call the Main Library Information Desk at (510) 577-3971.
