Earthquake Brace + Bolt Program

February 3, 2017 

For the third year in a row, San Leandro homeowners are eligible to receive as much as $3,000 to help strengthen their homes in the event of a major earthquake. Qualified homeowners in the 94577, 94578, and 94579 zip codes can apply for the program until February 27th. Check out My SL, the City's New Mobile 311 App!

Residents will now be able to use their mobile phones to report common issues such as potholes, abandoned vehicles, graffiti, broken streetlights and more by using My SL, the City's new 311 mobile application and website (www.my-sl.city) You can download the application at the Apple Store or Google Play Store by searching "My San Leandro". Information on San Leandro Minimum Wage Requirements

November 30, 2016 

On September 6, 2016, the City Council adopted an ordinance that accelerates implementation of the statewide minimum wage requirements. That ordinance goes into effect on July 1, 2017. For more information, please visit: www.sanleandro.org/minimumwage

Rhymes, songs and books for ages 0 to 12 months

*space is limited to 15 families
Enjoy focused time with your baby (pre-walkers ages 0 to 12 months) during this short session. We’ll sing songs, learn easy movement activities, and explore board books, followed by time to play/bond with your baby and talk with other parents and caregivers. Bring a blanket if you’d like. If you have a baby and a toddler/preschooler, please attend our toddler storytime or preschool storytime instead. This program is funded by First 5 Alameda County through a neighborhood partnership grant.

Disfruta un tiempo enfocado en Ud. y su bebé (edades 0-12 meses y pre-caminante) durante esta sesión corto. Cantaremos canciones, aprenderemos actividades de movimiento fáciles y exploraremos libritos antes de un tiempo de jugar y aumentar vínculo con su bebé mientras conocer otros padres y proveedores de cuidado infantil. Si tienes un bebe y un niñito/preescolar (de 1 año ), por favor en vez asistir nuestro programa de Canciones y Cuentos el jueves. Este es un servicio gratuito ofrecido por First 5 Alameda County.

We offer duplicate sessions at 9:30am and 10:30am, so please choose just one to attend. This storytime takes place in the ESTUDILLO ROOM of the Main Library.

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME: Stories, songs and play for preschoolers (and up)

Designed for children ages 3-6, our preschool storytime features longer picture books, plus plenty of flannel boards, puppets and songs. We explore a different theme each week with books and crafts to help with emerging literacy and fine motor skills, followed by a play time.

This program takes place in the ESTUDILLO ROOM at the Main Library.


2:30 PMDub Club

Teens in grades 6-12, join us at the Main Library every Wednesday that school is in session for Dub Club!

Dub Club is from 2:30-4:30 pm and is a place where you can hang with your friends, have a snack, and play video games! Free event, new teens must sign our behavior guidelines to attend.

The Recreation and Parks Commission makes recommendations to the City Council regarding policies for the management and improvement of all properties used for leisure purposes by the City, plans for the future development of recreation and cultural programs in the City, and reviews and recommends user fees for recreation services. The Commission has nine members who serve four-year terms.
