Prescription Drug Discount Program

Prescription Drug Discount Program

Don’t have health insurance?
Have a prescription to fill that is not covered by insurance?
Want to save an average of 20% off retail prescription drug prices?

Sign up for the City of San Leandro Prescription Discount Card.

The City of San Leandro offers savings on prescription drugs to residents who are without health insurance, a traditional benefits plan, or have prescriptions that are not covered by insurance.

The Prescription Discount Card is made available to residents by the City of San Leandro in collaboration with the National League of Cities (NLC) and is made possible through San Leandro’s membership in NLC.

The card is FREE to all San Leandro residents, regardless of age, income or existing health insurance. By using this card you may save an average of 20% off the regular retail price of prescription drugs at participating pharmacies.

Start saving today! All you have to do is print a card (or pick one up at any of the locations below) and present it to any participating pharmacy nationwide. Since most major retail pharmacy chains participate, including Ride Aid, Lucky Supermarkets, and Walgreens, finding a pharmacy is easy.

Residents may pick up a card at the following San Leandro locations:

• City Hall, Recreation and Human Services Department, 835 East 14th Street

• Senior Community Center, 13909 East 14th Street

• Marina Community Center, 15301 Wicks Blvd

• Main Library, 300 Estudillo Avenue

• Davis Street Family Resource Center, 3081 Teagarden Street

Visit CVS Caremark’s website at http://www2.caremark.com/nlc/ to access the program online, print your card, check drug prices or locate participating pharmacies or call toll free: 1-888-620-1749.   For general information about this program contact Joann Oliver, Recreation and Human Services Manager at 510-577-3463.

Please note: This is not insurance. Discounts are only available at participating pharmacies. By using this card, participants agree to pay the entire prescription cost less any applicable discount. Savings may vary by drug and pharmacy.
