The City is working with Cal-Coast Development, master developer, and a 33-member Shoreline Development Citizens Advisory Committee to develop a master plan for an approximately 40-acre opportunity site at the San Leandro Shoreline. A Discussion Plan has been created and can be found here. No formal recommendation for development has been made to the City Council.
While the City remains hopeful that future development can support the retention of a reconfigured boat harbor, as no source of funding has been identified for future dredging or transfer of the dredged materials, the City is exploring alternatives for the boat harbor basin. A consultant team has been retained to identify three alternatives. Town Hall meetings have been scheduled to provide the community an update on the Shoreline Development project to date and gain input on alternatives for the boat harbor basin.
