The City of San Leandro requires a license for any dog that lives within the City limits. You can obtain your dog license by mail or in person at the cashier's office located on the 1st floor of City Hall. The cashier's office is open Monday - Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The dog licensing period coincides with the rabies vaccination period.

The following fees apply for a dog license:
1 year rabies certificate $20
1 year rabies spayed/neutered $10
3 year rabies certificate $40
3 year rabies spayed/neutered $20

Dog owners must present proof of rabies vaccination upon purchasing a dog license. The fee for the dog license shall be reduced by 50% for dogs who are spayed/neutered. Please present a copy of your sterilization certificate (it may be noted on your rabies certificate) at the time you purchase your dog license to receive the discount.
