ROOT PARK |
|
|
Root Park, located at the corner of Hays and E. 14th streets, was opened in May 1996. The park is an attractive and comfortable green space in downtown San Leandro. In addition to sitting areas and garden beds, the park provides unique access to San Leandro Creek, where the natural environment may be studied and appreciated. It is used by local science classes for nature study. Picnic areas at this park are available for reservation from April 1 through October 31. Insurance is required for parties of 100 people and above. Picnic area reservations can be submitted to the Recreation and Human Services Department, located at the City Hall South Offices (835 E. 14th Street), or at the Marina Community Center, located at 15301 Wicks Boulevard. For more information, call (510) 577-3462. |
